Kultura Gniewu, publisher of the controversial and much discussed comic "Chopin: New Romantic" has announced that it will return the €30,000 it received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to fund production of the book, Gazeta Wyborcza reports.

The purpose of the comic, designed by artist and singer Krzysztof Ostrowski, was to promote Frederic Chopin in an unconventional manner to younger age groups in Germany.

In "Chopin: New Romantic", the composer is placed in modern times as head of a pop group on his way to a concert at a prison. Vulgar vocabulary is widely used in the text, a fact that had the Ministry of Foreign Affairs fuming.
