British supermarket giant Tesco will buy the Polish convenience store chain Żabka from Czech private equity firm Penta Investments, Puls Biznesu wrote, citing anonymous sources.

The daily originally wrote that the contract was to be signed this week, but now reports that the deal will probably go through next week.

The paper also writes that the deal has not been sealed yet. Another financial investor is still in negotiations and might yet steal the prize.

Żabka has more than 2,350 convenience stores and is valued at $560 million. Tesco bought the Czech Żabka chain from Penta for $55.93 million in December.
