Warsaw airport disruptions to start Saturday
Saturday evening will be the start of the planned renovation of the Fryderyk Chopin International Airport in Warsaw, with takeoff lanes to be effected.
Planners are expecting a 90 percent reduction in traffic during the work periods. Work is scheduled for three weekends: the 3-6, 10-12 and 17-19 of September.
Micha³ Marzec, the head of the airport, explained that the renovation and corresponding disruption are necessary to handle the new generation of larger planes such as the Boeing 787 and Airbus A380.
