Central gov't deficit target slashed
The Finance Ministry has cut its 2011 projection for the central government deficit to zł.40.2 billion from the previous ceiling of zł.45 billion, Deputy Finance Minister Hanna Majszczyk told Reuters on Thursday.
“In the 2011 budget draft, the Finance Ministry has proposed a [central government] deficit of zł.40.2 billion, with revenue of zł.272 billion,” Ms Majszczyk said.
An unnamed government official also told Reuters that the central government deficit would this year total zł.48.3 billion, compared to the zł.52.2 billion initially expected.
The central government deficit is differentiated from the general government deficit in that it does not include the financial situation of local governments and state agencies.
