Suspected nepotism is among the causes behind an ongoing inspection of Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PAŻP), said Julia Pitera, a government plenipotentiary for fighting corruption.
According to Rzeczpospolita, entire families are employed at the air traffic supervision organization, including both the wife and daughter of the agency's President Krzysztof Banaszek, two daughters and two sons-in-law of the Director of Airspace Management and Operational Processing Office, Leszek Gołąb, the son and wife of the Director of Personnel Training and Development Office, Andrzej Hawryluk, even the wife of the infrastructure minister's advisor, who supervises PAŻP, and others.
The average monthly wage at the agency is zł.16,000. The inspection is due to end on October 6, but may be extended.
