President Bronisław Komorowski is set to realize some election promises when he sets off on a whistle-stop tour of Europe's chancelleries in September.

The president is due to travel to Brussels on Wednesday, September 1 to meet with President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and President of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek.

On Thursday, Mr Komorowski will travel on to Paris to meet with the president of France's National Assembly, Bernard Accoyer. Poland's president will later speak privately with his French counterpart, Nicolas Sarkozy.

Mr Komorowski's travels will end in Berlin with a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Bundestag President Norbert Lammert. He will also meet with German President Christian Wulff at the Sachsenhausen concentration camp.

Mr Komorowski is also expected to travel to Latvia later next month and is rumored to have plans for traveling to the United States as well.
