Poland's luxury car imports boom
For a couple of months now, the luxury cars import industry has been flourishing in Poland. An imported limousine may cost up to zł.100,000 less than one sold by a domestic car dealer.
Individual importers are able to offer lower sale prices because they often manage to register imported cars as trucks. There is no excise tax on trucks in Poland, while there is an 18.6 percent tax on cars with engines over two liters.
Importers can save up to zł.100,000 registering a Porsche as a truck, over zł.70,000 in the case of the Audi A8, and almost zł.30,000 on the Volkswagen Passat.
