Insurer PZU's share price has gone up by almost 24 percent since the company made its debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in May this year. The purchase of the insurer's shares in large quantities by institutional investors contributed to the jump in their value.
Huge demand was created for PZU shares when the company entered the blue-chip WIG20 index and MSCI international indices, after its initial debut on the main WIG index.
"Besides it is a unique company. Apart from PZU, there is only one other insurer traded on WSE – TU Europa, but its shares are rather less liquid," said Roland Paszkiewicz from CDM Pekao.
On the other hand, Kulczyk Oil Ventures (KOV) has been doing poorly. The value of its shares was Monday nine percent lower compared to their debut price.
