Polish film companies go to Hollywood

Polish film companies are on the move, working alongside American production companies as partners instead of just contracting for them. What is more, Polish film companies and investors are now not just accepting work but financing it themselves.

The move to a more active Polish role in Hollywood can be traced to the financial crisis which caused Hollywood production companies to reduce investments in films that they did not expect to be blockbusters. This has left an opening for Polish companies to move ahead in the industry.

The trend is so significant that Rzeczpospolita estimates that in the next few years Polish film companies will invest in more than a dozen American films.
