Orange Festival

This year’s Orange Festival will be one of the best yet with world-class musicians headlining the event.
While the 2010 edition of the festival has moved more into pop music territory than previous years, it has not lost track of its alternative roots. For the first time ever the two-day event will take place at the Służewiec horse racing tracks. The open-air venue provides listeners with the space and comfort to enjoy the hours of music.
The first day’s lineup leans heavily towards indie and alternative rock styles. It will be headlined by Hole – after an eight year hiatus, Kurt Cobain’s widow, Courtney Love, returns with a new album and a whole new lineup. The other performers that evening include the popular White Lies from the UK, and two Polish artists, Kim Nowak and the critically acclaimed Kumka Olik.
On the second day the focus shifts towards pop sounds. The headliner is Nelly Furtado, the versatile and multi-talented Canadian artist, currently promoting her latest album “Mi Plan,” sung entirely in Spanish. Other artists include Mika, the highly individualistic, classically trained singer from Lebanon, Aura Dione – a rising star from Denmark, and Irish indie-folk singer Lisa Hannigan.
There are many more performers, and the list keeps growing – for the latest information go to www.orangewarsawfestival.tvn.pl.
