PO: No increase in income tax
Tomasz Tomczykiewicz, the parliamentary club leader of Civic Platform (PO), has announced that the government will not increase personal income tax (PIT) rates or corporate tax (CIT) rates but that there will be a “small” increase in VAT on certain articles.
Mr Tomczykiewicz declined to specify on which articles exactly VAT would be increased, saying the details were still being discussed.
The announcement comes after days of speculation on whether the government would increase direct taxes after Michał Boni, Prime Minister Tusk's chief adviser, suggested such a possibility in an interview on TOK FM.
