Poznań will be the first Polish city to complete the preparation of its stadium for the Euro 2012 football championships.
“Work on the stadium is drawing to an end. We hope that by September, the stadium will already be functioning as a sports and cultural events arena” said Ryszard Grobelny, mayor of Poznań, at a meeting with journalists.
The stadium will seat 46,000 people, have 221 catering points, two restaurants, a bar and 2050 parking spaces. The city invested zł.713 million to modernize the complex, where group games of the Euro 2012 tournament will be played.
It has also been announced that the legendary singer and songwriter Sting will be performing at the stadium on September 20 this year.
Tickets will cost from zł.90 to zł.400 and will be on sale from July 20.
