Złoty growth stalled?
The złoty will no longer be helped by the presidential elections, which calmed financial markets at the beginning of last week.
Indeed, in keeping with analyst’ predictions, the Polish currency strengthened by one percent against the euro last week. Analysts from BNP Paribas had said that if the election resulted in a Bronisław Komorowski win, the złoty could increase by up to two percent for no more than a week.
According to Marek Rogalski of BOŚ, the dollar will now have the greatest influence on the Polish currency.
“The prospects for further strengthening of the złoty has begun to narrow, regardless of data from macroeconomic publications which are planned this week,” he said.
