As a part of this year’s Chopin celebrations, yet another mu-seum has come up with an exhibition dedicated to the life and times of the famous Polish-born composer.
The Museum of Independence (Muzeum Niepodległości) has prepared this showcase of the central-eastern region of Mazovia as it was in the time of Chopin’s life.
The years 1810-1830 – the period from the pianist’s birth to his emigration to France – was a time of great change in Poland. The focus of this exhibition is on daily life in the city, court, and country, the growth of arts and sciences, and the social and economic changes in this period of prosperity for what was then the Duchy of Warsaw (1807-1815) and later the Kingdom of Poland (also known as Congress Poland, 1815-1832).
Through the use of multimedia, reconstructed interiors, interactive installations and authentic period artifacts, visitors can relive everyday experiences as Chopin himself would have.
The exhibition is on now through mid-October.
Warsaw’s Chopin Museum also features an interactive experience of Chopin’s music and his cosmopolitan, albeit tragic, life.
A maximum of 100 visitors are granted entrance daily (by appointment) in order to fully benefit from this tech-savvy space at their own pace.
