As far as foreign investment goes, Poland is no longer the most attractive target in Central Europe.

According to a new report by global financial advisory firm Ernst & Young, Poland's position as the prime investment target for international entrepreneurs is weakening.

For one, the number of new job opportunities created in Poland as a direct result of foreign investment has fallen by more than half.

In 2008, there were 15,500 such positions. Last year, that number shrank to 7,500.

Poland's contribution to new European industrial activity dropped from 12 percent to six percent.

In 2008, Poland was in second place in Europe in new job creation. Today, the country is in fifth place, behind Great Britain, France, Russia and Turkey.
