ZUS extends contract with Asseco
A 13-year agreement between the Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) and its IT service provider Asseco, which was due to end this October, has been extended.
Some months ago ZUS reported that it would be audited to help determine whether it would open a tender for a new contract.
However, of the five potential consultancy firms in the running for the audit, none was selected due to the protests of one contender – Comarch.
Hence, ZUS audited itself and decided to continue with Asseco for a further three years.
Allegedly, Asseco is also the only company capable of operating ZUS's computer systems. Over the 13 years, ZUS paid Asseco some zł.3 billion for its services.
