Auto imports rise, but dealers hoping for more
In February, imports to Poland of foreign cars rose by a few percentage points. The problem remains, however, that buyers are still staying away. Dealers are hoping for a boost in spring.
In Gdansk alone, more than 1,000 cars were shipped in from other European Union countries, an increase of 14% from a year earlier. In other regions, the growth has been slower, but still sufficient to maintain – or even slightly increase – the 3.5% increase in imports at the beginning of the year.
According to the latest statistics from the Finance Ministry, Poland imported 44,500 cars in January. After February, that figure will certainly exceed 86,000.
