Potential Civic Platform presidential candidate Radosław Sikorski launched and attack on incumbent President Lech Kaczyński at a convention in Bydgoszcz yesterday.
“The president of a free Poland may be short, but he should not be small,” Mr Sikorski said. Experts have suggested that the Foreign Minister's campaign may not be so much a fight for the presidency as a fight for political backing that will be helpful to him in future.
Mr Sikorski stressed the need to link Poland with “success, dynamism and youth” instead of the old political ways.
“Will we link ourselves with the figure, optimism and smile of [Olympic gold medalist] Justyna Kowalczyk or with the figure, optimism and smiles of the Kaczyński brothers?” Sikorski asked, to the delight of his audience in Bydgoszcz's Opera Nova.
