Poles can now legally watch movies a few days after their international premiere following a deal signed between WSE-listed TVN and Warner Bros. Entertainment, a unit of Time Warner to offer video on demand (VOD) services.
The service, which allows users to download movies from a subscription site offers over 1,350 movies and television programs, TVN said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The service combines the capabilities of television, cinema and internet. [The VOD] service is a natural direction for the development of our media group that integrates television, internet and digital platforms. High definition video is the fastest growing category in the network,” Łukasz Wejchert, head of Onet.pl, an internet subsidiary of TVN, told TVN24.
