Police force cuts training expenses
Poland's police force has fallen on hard times. There is a lack of money that needs to be spent on training cadets to become full officers ready for duty.
To deal with the deficit, the force is shortening training and even canceling some seminars.
With entrance requirements and training procedures already cut to the bone, ongoing specializations and expert training for officers already working are also being eliminated.
Experts worry this could result in safety threats to the public.
The force already has the shortest training out of all of Europe. Officers can hit the streets after a seven-month course. To compare, it takes 18 months in the Czech Republic and three years in Germany.
