The Solidarność trade union is demanding a rise in salaries for Fiat workers in Poland. On Wednesday the union organized four half-hour rallies, each aimed at achieving a zł.650 per month salary increase.
The union also announced more protests to come.
While the workers plan their protests, the company's fate hangs in the balance as in 2011 the company is to start producing a new Panda model.
The board of Fiat Auto is considering lightening the load in Tychy as the production can not be boosted there unless gigantic investments are made to expand and modernize the factory.
The new model of Fiat Panda would be produced in the Pomigilano D'Arco factory, whereas Tychy would build another model, the latest version of the Lancia Ypsilon, which would not reach the same level of mass production as the Panda.
Despite that, union workers are still aiming at higher wages and additional protests are expected take place in the near future.
