The Euro2012 games may be plagued by a shortage of hotels despite that the pace of building new ones is picking up.
This year, Marriott Renaissance will start a new investment in Warsaw, Warimpex plans on building two hotels in Poznań and Wroc³aw, hotel chain Boutique will build a new hotel in the center of Kraków.
Orbis is investing in Novotel in £ód¼ and it is highly probable a new Sheraton Hotel will be built in the Mazury lake district.
"We estimate that the cost of building the new facilities may reach z³.800 million. An additional z³.200-300 million may come from EU funds," said Andrzej Szafrański, an analyst from the Hotel Institute.
However, despite the boom on the hotel market, there will be a definite shortage when it comes to accommodation for Euro 2012.
VIP guests, football players and organizers have nothing to worry about as the problem is that there will not be enough beds for the fans.
