TVN makes and withdraws offer for TV Puls
Europe's largest listed broadcaster, TVN, has reportedly withdrawn an offer to purchase a smaller Polish rival, TV Puls, Reuters has reported.
Analysts told the news agency that the offer was made earlier to prevent a foreign competitor from entering the domestic market.
"TVN made an offer for TV Puls, but withdrew it," TVN spokesperson Karol Smoląg said. "At this moment no talks are being held."
TV Puls did not confirm on the news. “Even if the reports by Reuters were true, both parties in the talks have a nondisclosure agreement,” Dariusz Dąbski, president and majority shareholder in TV Puls, told Rzeczpospolita. (RG)
