Politicians have complained about a Civic Platform (PO) decision in the beginning of December to dismiss two Law and Justice (PiS) deputies from the Sejm commission investigating the gambling affair.
"This was a move which was not understood by public opinion, it turned out that they are the victims," said one of the leading PO politicians.
The head of the commission, Mirosław Sekuła of the PO, declared yesterday that now the commission will investigate the issue of lobbying in favor of gambling corporations in relation to the ruling party.
Still this month it is to interview the former head of PO's parliamentary club, Zbigniew Chlebowski, former Sports Minister Mirosław Drzewiecki, and former Interior Minister Grzegorz Schetyna. It is also likely that Prime Minister Donald Tusk will also be interviewed by the commission in January.
"I already talked to the PM's Chancellery. Between January 19 and 22 he is busy, maybe we will be able to call the Prime Minister for a meeting between January 26-29," said Mr Sekuła.
