Rzeczpospolita has determined how much money the largest political parties spend on promotional services and public relations.
The most detailed analysis was possible for the Civic Platform (PO) and the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD). Between January to September PO spent zł.2 million on this purpose, while the SLD zł.250,000.
Deputy chairman of Law and Justice (PiS), Adam Lipiński, estimated the expenditures of his party at between zł.20,000-30,000 per month, and according to sources of Rzeczpospolita the figure has not yet exceeded zł.1 million this year.
However, the Polish People's Party (PSL) refused to reply to the paper's questions.
The largest amounts for promotional purposes, not surprisingly, is spent during election campaigns. During the recent campaign to the European Parliament, PSL, PiS and PO spent zł.10 million each, while SLD – zł.7 million.
