Environment Minister Maciej Nowicki announced his resignation yesterday and told journalists during a press conference that there is nothing extraordinary about the fact that he is stepping down in mid term.

"I had an agreement with the Prime Minister to fulfill concrete tasks. They were carried out, it is time to retire," he said.

However, politicians do not believe this explanation, as according to unofficial information, Donald Tusk has been considering his dismissal for several months.

"Tusk has had enough of Nowicki and Nowicki lost his will to fight," said one PO politician. Nowicki has been criticized for being too protective of the environment.

His most probable successor, Deputy Environment Minister Stanisław Gawłowski, is more in favor of entrepreneurs, whom the government wants to support during the crisis.
