Deputy Finance Minister Elżbieta Chojna-Duch is set to be named as the Polish People's Party (PSL) candidate for the next Monetary Policy Council (RPP) – the National Bank of Poland body that sets interest rates – a deputy speaker of parliament told Reuters.

“We are starting to gather signatures for the candidacy of Elżbieta Chojna-Duch today, who is PSL's candidate for the Monetary Policy Council,” said PSL member Ewa Kierzkowska.

The rate-setting RPP will see nine of its 10 members replaced early next year. (JJ)
