18th November 2009

Political parties in Poland are gearing up for the presidential elections due in a year's time. According to a poll conducted by the Public Opinion Research Center (CBOS), Polish president Lech Kaczyński has low ratings compared to other politicians.

Mr Kaczyński is criticized by almost every sector of Polish society, especially the wealthy, atheists, young adults and city dwellers.

November data by CBOS shows that the president's ratings have dropped by three percent over the previous month. Mr Kaczyński now enjoys the support of 24 percent of voters in Poland. (RG)
