Developer UBM has announced the start of construction on its Oaza Kampinos complex of pro-ecological homes located in Małocice, approximately 30 kilometers north of Warsaw.
Sitting on 32 hectares of partially forested land neighboring the Kampinos National Park, the scheme will feature technologies and solutions aimed at reducing energy consumption and limiting the project’s impact on the environment.
“With energy costs constantly on the rise, the issue of heating buildings is of crucial importance to apartment- and house-buyers. That is why homes in Oaza Kampinos have been fitted with solar collectors which will draw energy directly from nature and whose work will not lead to the degradation of the natural environment,” Sebastian Vetter, a member of UBM’s management board, said in a statement.
He added that the solution was both efficient and cost-saving and that in summer it could cover almost the whole amount of energy needed to heat water in a single-family house. Some of the homes in Oaza Kampinos will also be warmed by means of heat pumps.
The scheme, which will include single-family houses and semi-detached houses, will be realized in four stages, the first of which will include 49 homes coming in seven types and ranging in size from 196.9 sqm to 231.7 sqm. The first of these are scheduled for delivery at the turn of Q1 and Q2 2011.
Tennis courts and playing grounds, as well as a fitness club, kindergarten and retail space will also be developed as part of the Oaza Kampinos project.
UBM has to date been best known in Poland for its commercial projects. Among the company’s investments in the country are the InterContinental hotel and Griffin House, Parkur Tower and Warsaw Towers office buildings in Warsaw.
Along with CA Immo, the developer is currently involved in the Poleczki Business Park office scheme in the capital.
