At the end of last week senior Polish and US diplomats met in Warsaw and agreed that the first battery of Patriot missile launchers will arrive in Poland "shortly.” The missiles will be located in Poland on a rotation basis for training purposes.
"We want the first shift to begin in the first half of next year, while the following ones to be of a quarterly nature. We need to determine the presence of armed missiles and control systems as well as managing systems in individual shifts," said head of the American delegation, Deputy Defense Secretary Alexander Vershbow.
He added in his interview for Rzeczpospolita, that the USA wants to develop a base for its new anti-missile shield system in Poland. In his opinion, the Russians are rather positive about the current proposals, but are curious about the following stages of the process.
