The government has already used 79 percent of this year's planned budget deficit, and this is the first time in five years that it has been so close to the final amount at this point of the year. However, the government is doing all it can to make sure not to exceed the zł.27.2 billion deficit.
By the end of September, state expenditures amounted to zł.223.9 billion which accounts for 74.6 percent of the plan for this year, while budget revenues amounted to zł.202.4 billion which is 74.2 percent of the plan.
Moreover, revenues from indirect tax, such as VAT and excise tax, amount to 78 percent of the sum envisaged for the whole of the year, that is zł.147.5 billion. Revenues from income tax (PIT) after September stood at 74.3 percent of the planned sum of zł.34.4 billion. The budget deficit increased as compared to August by almost zł.6 billion.
