French naval builder to buy Gdynia shipyard assets?
DCNS, a French state-owned maritime manufacturer, is interested in purchasing the assets of the troubled Gdynia shipyard. The contract, according to French daily Les Echos, is related to a possible purchase by Poland of two submarines.
“I do not confirm nor deny [this news],” Roma Sarzyńska, a spokesperson for the Industrial Development Agency (ARP), told Gazeta Wyborcza. Polish government agency ARP was involved in the preparations of the tenders for a previous attempt at selling the shipyard.
“The higher the interest, the better,” Maciej Wewiór, a spokesperson for the Treasury Ministry told the daily.
