Lviv out of the running for Euro 2012
A secret report from UEFA, revealed that the Ukrainian city of Lviv will not be hosting games European soccer championship in 2012.
According to the report, obtained by Gazeta Wyborcza, there the city will not be able to complete the stadium in time for the games. The construction for the stadium has not even commenced. City authorities had said that the venue would be handed over by July 2011.
Aside from not commencing building work, the report reveals that the city does not even have a design nor financial scheme in place.
“There is a major delay in construction works while the current time schedule submitted fpr this report stil lenvisions delivery in 2010. this is totally unrealistic and impossible,” the report reads.
