As many as 76 percent of Poles are opposed to the war in Afghanistan, while only one in five surveyed supported the operation, according to a poll by CBOS conducted between September 3-9.
The poll also reveals that 77 percent of Poles believe Polish forces should withdraw from Afghanistan immediately – a rise of 12 percent since June. Just 16.5 percent of Poles think the mission should continue.
Asked whether or not they thought the operation would bring peace in Afghanistan, a mere 17 percent agreed that it would, and 71 percent believed the opposite.
Generally, the group which voiced most disapproval, were the older and less educated, while people below the age of 34 were more supportive of the Polish involvement.
