Politicians from the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) and Law and Justice (PiS) announced that the change in decision by the US administration concerning the construction of the missile shield is a huge defeat of the government.

"A government which has honor and feels responsible for the state should withdraw from power," Karol Kurski from PiS said yesterday.

"It seems like the government was surprised with the decision of the Americans, which means that the diplomacy is not doing its job or we are not treated by the US administration like a partner," said SLD deputy Jolanta Szymanek-Derek. She added that the Americans consider Russia as having the largest potential and the strongest position in our region, and it is Russia that the Americans want to cooperate with.
