Another soldier loses his life in Afghanistan

Private Piotr Marciniak is the 13th Polish soldier to have been killed in the country

During an exchange of fire on Thursday in Afghanistan another Polish soldier, private first class Piotr Marciniak, was killed.

The Polish troops were called in to support to the US and Afghan forces in the district of Andar. Four other soldiers were wounded.

The spokesperson of the Polish contingent in Afghanistan, Marcin Gil, informed that over a dozen Afghan resistance fighters were killed, including one suspected of organizing terrorist attacks in the province of Ghazni, which is being supervised by the Polish soldiers.

Private Marciniak is the 13th Polish soldier to have been killed in Afghanistan.
