The Polish government has approved a 2010 budget bill, predicting a deficit of zł.52.2 billion, almost doubling this year's forecast.

The prediction of the shortfall is in line with previous announcements from the finance ministry. The bill will now undergo work by a commission of business and unions and needs to be passed over to parliament by the end of September. (JJ)
