One Pole is dead and five more were wounded after a bomb exploded under an armored Rosomak vehicle in Afghanistan. The Polish convoy was attacked on Friday afternoon close to the Giro base.
"A patrol of Polish soldiers was just coming back to base. The bomb exploded when the Rosomak was less than 3 kilometers from the base. We have no data on the mode of detonation, but the bomb itself had to be very powerful," said Dariusz Kacperczyk, spokesperson for army headquarters DOSZ.
General Sławomir Petelicki told TVN that the bomb had to be larger than 100 kg. According to Rzeczpospolita, the explosion was at the back of the vehicle. "The Afghan resistance has learned how to fight against the armor of Rosomak to cause mortal accidents," said general Roman Polko, former head of the special forces unit GROM.
