Defense Minister travels to Afghanistan to present plan
Defense Minister Bogdan Klich traveled to Afghanistan on Wednesday in order, officially, to present a plan to purchase equipment for the Polish army.
However, the unofficial reason of the visit is to improve the morale of the military officials after the resignation of the head of the Land Forces, General Waldemar Skrzypczak.
"The Minister went to Afghanistan to present the so called Afghan packet, that is a list of purchases of arms and equipment, which the Defense Ministry wants to send to Afghanistan in the second half of this year and the next," said the spokesperson of the Defense Ministry Robert Rochowicz.
The cost of the Afghan packet is estimated at zł.1.3 billion.
