Riki Ellison, the head of the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance, told Gazeta Wybrocza, that "the signals sent by generals from the Pentagon are absolutely clear: the current US government is searching for other solutions in relation to missile protection than the bases in Poland and the Czech Republic."

He went on to add that it has been revealed that the new US administration, rather than construct the anti-missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic, as was negotiated between representatives of the EU countries and former President George W. Bush, plans to locate the shields on sea vessels, as well as in Israel, Turkey and possibly in the Balkans.

According to sources in the US, the decision to change the location of the shield has already been made.
