Though it's been a year since the US-Poland missile shield deal was signed, little has been done

Although yesterday marked one year since former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Minister Radosław Sikorski signed the agreement for the construction of the missile shield in Poland, representatives of the Polish government have still not ratified the agreement.

Moreover, the negotiations concerning the terms under which US soldiers could be stationed in Poland are not yet finalized. Former Defense Minister Stanisław Koziej declared that Polish authorities should have immediately ratified the agreement, and thus they could currently demand from that the US fulfill its terms.

However, the US administration is also putting the issue on the back burner and is carrying out an audit over whether the shield will be effective and whether the investment will be profitable.

Meanwhile, Boeing has proposed constructing a mobile missile shield which could be moved from one NATO base to another by a Boeing plane.
