Dalai Lama to be named honorary citizen of Warsaw

The Dalai Lama will be receiving honorary citizenship of Warsaw on Wednesday

The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibet, arrived at Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport on Monday evening. The leader will be receiving honorary citizenship of the City of Warsaw on Wednesday. This is the Dalai Lama's fourth visit to the country.

On Tuesday morning he gave a lecture, entitled “The Value of Education & Universal Responsibility” at the University of Warsaw.

Later in the day, the Dalai Lama will attend a lunch with the Mayor of Warsaw, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, followed by a visit to the Warsaw Rising Museum. The day will be rounded up with the opening of a traditional Tibetan herbal health clinic, following an invitation from Dr Tenzin Jangchub, who is a former student of the Dharamsala-based Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute.

The spiritual leader of Tibet, has been living in exile in India for the last 50 years. (JJ)
