The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) suspended the acting head of TVP, Piotr Farfał, who has led the national broadcaster since December.

Farfał has been a member of TVP's board since being nominated by the League of Polish Families in May 2006. He has proven a controversial figure due to his past membership in anti-semitic, radical-right organizations.

Previously suspended board members Marcin Bochenek and Sławomir Siwek have been reinstated by KRRiT, with the latter replacing Farfał.

There are doubts, however, if the decision is legally binding and Farfał is threatening to take the matter to the Prosecutor's Office.
