Brokerage House DnB Nord’s recent evaluation of biotech firm Bioton has impressed investors. It set the recommendation for the human insulin maker’s shares at zł.0.45 – nearly twice as much as they are currently going for on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
“The firm has huge potential, in particular in terms of its presence on absorptive markets: in China and India,” said Tomasz Jachowicz, an analyst with BM DnB Nord told Puls Biznesu.
“Bioton has the worst behind it, while the restructuring should bring about results next year.
This mostly concerns the gradual reduction of the burden of debts, which have been heavily affecting the firm so far,” he added.
Other analysts also share this positive approach to the company following the recent publication of its new strategy.
However, while analysts note that there are still a number of areas of concern, the future will look brighter if the company achieves its new goals.
“If the scenario for expansion on these markets [China and India] is fulfilled, Bioton might again stir the emotions of investors,” Paweł Burzyński, an analyst with BZ WBK, told the daily.
