ArcelorMittal Poland is planning to cut employment this year by 1,480 people.
The employees who decide to leave can count on a generous compensation package. The concern finalized the first phase of the voluntary redundancy program in April and is launching the second phase in July.
"In the second wave, compensation will be dependent on the time worked for the company and age. Those who decide to leave and who have been employed for between 5-10 years, can count on zł.69,000 and those who have been working more than 30 years - zł.95,000," said the company's spokesperson Andrzej Krzyształowski.
So far, 669 people have taken advantage of the program, and the average compensation paid amounted to zł.99,000 in January, zł.88,000 in February and zł.78,500 in March.
