The cities which will host the Euro 2012 games will be officially selected today and tomorrow by EUFA, the administrative and controlling body for European soccer

The EUFA committee, chaired by president Michel Platini, “Will take its decision following a final evaluation of the host-city candidates, undertaken after a recent visit to Poland and Ukraine by a senior UEFA delegation,” the organization said a statement.

According to Gazeta Wyborcza, which obtained an internal memo on the issue, the Polish cities have been rated in terms of overall infrastructure – not only stadiums, but also airports, hotels, fan camps, freeways, rail connections and the geographic locations of the cities. Other factors like intracity transport have also been taken into consideration. According to the daily, the latter criterion is further divided into two areas, transport infrastructure and logistics.

If EUFA were to rely solely on these aforementioned ratings, the daily said, the cities which would fare best are Warsaw and Kraków. Poznań and Wroc³aw would follow, with Gdańsk and Chorzów having the least chance of being chosen.

The decisions will be announced in the Romanian capital, Bucharest.

Poland's preparations for the Euro 2012 soccer championship are estimated to cost around €20 (z³.87.76) million, according to Polska – The Times.
