Hundreds monitored as Poland records first swine flu case
A 58 year old woman who arrived in Poland on May 2 from a visit to the USA is infected with the A/H1N1 virus in the country's first case of swine flu.
"The woman is feeling ok," said Jan Bondar from the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, "nobody from her family has the symptoms of the flu, but they will all receive anti-virus medication." As the infected woman traveled by plane from New York to Warsaw, 170 other passengers, as well as nine crew members, are also endangered by the virus.
"Local sanitary service employees will be checking on their health on a daily basis," added Bondar.
