One of the world's largest IT companies, IBM, is considering opening a plant in Poland that would employ up to 3,000 people.

The Polish towns of Katowice and Wroc³aw are competing against the Egyptian capital, Cairo, and Bucharest in Romania for the investment, according to Gazeta Wyborcza.

“The heads of the American [IT] giant visited Katowice and Wroc³aw last week,” an anonymous IBM Polska employee told the daily. “They spoke with the mayors of both cities and viewed a presentation of each [proposed] facility. The IBM delegates were extremely impressed with the presentation by the Wroc³aw University of Technology. The [presentation by] Katowice fared far worse,” the source said.

IBM Polska representatives did not confirm the news. (RG)
