No Iskander missiles in Kaliningrad
The US and Russia have agreed to stop the "drift" between them
Plans to deploy Iskander missiles in Russia's Kaliningrad exclave, north of Poland, have been halted by Russia. The plan was announced as a response to plans by the US to install a missile defense shield in Poland and the Czech Republic.
The decision follows a telephone conversation between US President Barack Obama and Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev on Monday, where the two leaders agreed to put a halt to the “drift” between the two countries' relations.
The Polish and Russian Prime Ministers are to meet at 2:15 pm tomorrow in Davos, and the two are set to discuss the missile shield issue, among others.
