The management of X-press Couriers, a messenger service operating in Warsaw and other major Polish cities, has signed a letter of intent to create a partnership with PKP Intercity. Both companies plan to implement a common transportation platform.
“PKP Intercity was looking for a partner to develop its parcel service [business] and they selected us from many other candidates,” said Adam Tomczak, president of the board of X-press Couriers.
Working groups from both companies will soon begin drafting feasibility studies. “X-press Couriers and PKP Intercity are dedicated to creating a new standard of quality for messenger services in Poland,” a press statement announced.
“The prospects for this cooperation are big,” said Paweł Tkaczyk, a board member at X-press Couriers. “Thanks to the infrastructure of PKP Intercity, we will be able to provide even faster service to our customers,” he added.
The official from PKP Intercity responsible for the project was not available for comment at press time. The details and range of cooperation will be known as early as Q2 2009. X-press Couriers belongs to TUP, an investment company listed on the WSE.
